Gasless UX Is Standard

Users don't think about gas anymore. Apps abstract it away or cover it entirely. The friction vanished.

Gas as a user-facing concept is dying and good riddance. New users don't even know what gas is. They click buttons and things happen. The abstraction layers worked. Paymasters covering transaction costs became the default for onboarding. Your first hundred transactions are free. By the time free runs out, you understand enough to continue. The cold start problem solved. L2 costs dropped low enough that apps just eat them. A few cents per transaction is marketing cost, not worth passing to users. The business model shifted to gasless by default. Session keys eliminated repeated approvals. Approve once at the start, interact freely for hours. Gaming especially benefits. Imagine approving every move in a game. Nightmare avoided. The tech complexity behind the scenes increased enormously. Bundlers, paymasters, relayers, gas estimation services. But users see none of it. Abstraction done right. Three years ago, explaining gas prices to non-crypto users meant watching complete confusion wash over their faces. Now those same people use DeFi apps without ever encountering the concept. That's real progress.
